Endangered Earth is the membership newsletter of the Center for Biological Diversity, published three times a year in January, July and November. To subscribe to the print edition, become a member of the Center today.
In this edition you’ll read an inspiring letter from our executive director on how in 2017, one of the Center's most challenging years since our inception, we rose to the threat of Trump's cabinet of oligarchs and a far-right Congress. We mobilized legions of volunteers through our massive organizing push, Ignite Change, which is expanding daily and has already signed up more than 13,000 volunteers to focus on its first strategic battle, protecting public lands. We also made more than 550 Freedom of Information Act requests to illuminate the administration's murky, behind-the-scenes dealings with Trump yes-men; filed more than 35 lawsuits against Trump’s bureaucracy in under a year; vigorously opposed the destructive, racist boondoggle of Trump's planned border wall; and launched our online publication The Revelator to cover environmental and conservation news and ideas with in-depth investigative features that will help hold Trump accountable. Meanwhile, of course, all year we did what we’ve always done: worked to save species and wild places as hard and fast as we can, and leveraged law and science to curb climate change.
This issue also features a centerfold of highlighted victories and key actions from 2017 in eight different Center programs, plus our plans for 2018 — which can be summarized in one sentence: We won't let up.
